Peter Stagg is the co-founder and lead photographer at Stagg Photography. Media was always in his DNA—his dad worked in newspapers, his mum in radio—so it’s no surprise he grew up with a camera in hand and a sharp eye for storytelling. Today, he brings that legacy to life through powerful, authentic images that connect.
First Friend: 50mm
From an early age, Peter was drawn into the art of people photography, thanks to his father’s influence. By age 10, his most trusted companion wasn’t a pet or a toy—it was his 35mm SLR paired with a 50mm lens, never far from his side.
Styling a vision together
After returning from the Face of the ’90s model search in Paris, Peter met Rachael—and the creative spark was instant. In Sydney, she refined her skills in hair and makeup while he worked the lens.

Rachael has a sharp eye for landscapes, capturing scenes with a unique sense of perspective that often goes unnoticed. Her instinctive compositions bring a fresh, artistic edge—perfectly balanced by Peter’s technical know-how behind the lens.
Framing Life Beyond the City
Peter and Rachael tied the knot in ’99, and as their family began to grow, so did their desire for a slower, more balanced way of life. Trading Sydney’s crowded streets for open space and sunshine, they made the move north to raise their young family in a place that felt more like home.
From Stills to Storytelling
In 2012, Peter began his journey into screen and media at the Queensland School of Film and Television. Since then, his award-winning work has opened doors into the world of cinematography and filmmaking, expanding his creative reach beyond stills into moving stories.

Peter has directed and shot international hip-hop music videos, short films, documentaries, and TV commercials—while also working across camera departments on a wide range of film sets. From gritty street shoots to polished productions, he’s been behind the lens bringing stories to life in every form.
